Background

CAME UK have been working closely with Magtec Electric Gates Ltd since their inception in 1998. Serving largely the Midlands and the North, they have merged with F. P. Ironwork to become one of the leading manufacturers and installers of gates, barriers, bollards, access control, and intercom systems.

We are proud to have partnered with them to serve some of the most prestigious commercial organisations in our local area.

One of these includes the professional rugby club, Leicester Tigers, who participate in Premiership Rugby.

In addition to this, was the busy Castle Donington hub of Toyota Tsusho who undertake a wide range of business activities from trading, manufacturing, and processing to retail and services throughout the world, specifically in parts and logistics.

Project Requirements

Both projects presented different demands, with Leicester Tigers heavily focussed on ground footfall management and Toyota requiring more peace of mind around security and a mix of HGV and vehicle traffic flow.

The vision for the Leicester Tigers project was to implement a highly visible barrier that helped to manage the footfall of fans safely.

Conversely, the demands at Toyota Tsusho were focussed on both site security, following a recent breach, but also to help smoothly manage site traffic of a larger size, with regular HGVs in addition to staff transportation.

One thing they had in common was the not only visibility and visual improvement to the sites, but the ability for Magtec to offer a smooth and speedy service through ease of installation.

Materials selected in both cases were the CAME GT8 barrier on account of the flexibility, high visibility, and ease of installation.

Dom Passaro, Director of Magtec Electric Gates Ltd, explained the practicality and ease of installations, enthusing about how the CAME prewired unit, coupled with the extendable boom arm helped his installers swiftly appoint new barriers and pass over to their customers.

Solution

Site visitors now enjoy clean and clearly signposted access on and offsite, illuminated by the strip LED lighting found around the perimeter of the unit and along both sides of the boom.

Site staff are able to easily manage the day-to-day operation of the barriers, and security is delivered with peace of mind, as they experience trouble free barrier operations.

Senior Management at both sites are delighted with the upgrade in both the form and function the barriers bring to improve their site security.

Dom enthused “we were impressed with the features... it’s a good-looking unit... installation is nice and easy for my guys; fit the base plate, pop the unit on top and we’re good to go”, concluding that “the benefit was increased security and improved traffic flow effectively”.
