SimpleKey Web (SKW) continues to develop and improve to deliver more for Installers, End Users and Residents. Through feedback and continual improvement, SimpleKey Web provides more to customers, without any additional cost. Starting this month (October 2025) SKW installations will begin to roll out a number of new features both practical updates and quality of life additions:
- Sign Off Certificate Email Confirmation
Confirm your system sign-off’s and improve your audit trail with digitally stamped certification via SimpleKey Web.
Sign-off confirmation certificates can be generated and sent to end users at multiple email addresses creating an additional audit layer to the existing system. Installers confirm sign-off in full with CAME KMS in the usual way, supplying email addresses to send copies of certificates via PDF. The PDF certificate generation and email is logged within SKW for future reference.
Sign-off Certificates can be generated on the day of sign-off , or created retrospectively with the original Sign-off date, allowing Installers to provide their customers with accurate paperwork on existing and future installations.
- Embedded Help Pages
Detailed Help Pages have always been a click away, hosted centrally at CAME KMS. These pages have now been relocated to within SKW installations locally. This means Help Pages are directly associated to individual installations and will always be relevant to your SKW system.
Help pages should also load faster and remove the need to navigate away from SKW, avoiding any possible conflicts with internal firewalls and external site blocking, improving security within your organisation.
- Communication Device Renaming
SimpleKey Web has constantly developed alongside communication technologies from mobile solutions to wired connections. With a commitment to backwards compatibility within the wider SimpleKey ecosystem, many communication device types exist within SKW and the naming of these has become somewhat outdated regarding the mobile technologies in use, with new technologies and device types being added lending themselves to confusion or misinterpretation.
We have renamed these devices to both bring the terminology up-to-date, consistent and easier or users to understand at a glance:
Exisiting Name New Name Usage GPRS Mobile SK3 and SK4 controllers using the mobile network operators to connect back to the SKW server CLAM IP SK4 controller using local broadband to connect back to the SKW server IPModem DNC Mobile Digital Notice Controller using mobile network operators for connection back to SKW IP Controller DNC IP Digital Notice Controller using local broadband to connect back to the SKW server MOXA MOXA SK3 controller using local broadband to connect back to the SKW server.
Remains the same due to significant technical differencesThe term Mobile covers all supported technologies: 2G, 3G, and 4G. Earlier SimpleKey 3 Systems connect via 2G networks, while later SimpleKey 4 Mk3 models support 2G, 3G, and 4G. These default to 4G where available but can fall back to 3G and 2G as needed. For this reason, we do not identify the exact communication technology of a device, as it may change from one day to the next based on local operator conditions and thus create confusion.

- Quick Contact Reference
A regularly updated contact reference has been added to the Help Pages within your SimpleKey Web installation. Listing all the contacts for the UK Business Development Manager team and their areas of operation, you’ll always have an up-to-date number and email of who to get in touch with for any queries, questions or requests.
These features will be propagating across SKW systems in the coming weeks, users will not need to do anything to update their installations and can begin using them as soon as they are available.
