A modular and scalable system integrating pedestrian turnstiles and access control to standardise entry procedures and meet the needs of the various sites across Italy.
Dosson di Casier (Treviso), 06.10.2026. Managing high volumes of people every day, while ensuring fast access, security and authorisation checks. This is the challenge tackled by CAME S.p.A., a global leader in automation, smart home solutions, access control and security, and parking systems, for McFIT, an RSG Group brand and one of Europe’s leading fitness chains. To meet the needs of the centres in the Italian network, CAME has developed a solution for managing pedestrian access, designed to combine control, ease of use and adaptability to the characteristics of the various sites.
The system integrates motorised pedestrian turnstiles and access control systems, enabling a distinction between the normal flow of members and that of staff, suppliers and service providers. This configuration thereby allows the orderly management of different access types and accurate verification of the relevant authorisations.
One of the key elements of the project is its modularity. The solution has been designed to be replicated across different McFIT centres, while maintaining common technological and functional standards and, at the same time, adapting to the characteristics of individual premises. The model, initially developed for one centre in the network, was subsequently adopted at various McFIT centres in Italy, with configurations tailored to the specific requirements of each site.
This approach standardises the access experience for members, simplifies site management and optimises installation and maintenance activities. The ability to start with a common configuration and customise it also allows a combination of standardisation and flexibility, a particularly important aspect for networks spanning multiple locations.
The McFIT project adds to CAME’s expertise in developing integrated solutions for access control and security, applied to contexts characterised by different requirements and flows: from commercial and hospitality areas to sports facilities and large complexes open to the public.
