Standardizing Gym Access: CAME’s Project for the McFIT National Fitness Chain
For the McFIT fitness club in Mestre, we engineered a custom access control solution tailored to seamlessly handle the daily traffic of gym-goers.
A project we subsequently replicated across other McFIT locations a brand of RSG Group and one of Europe’s leading fitness chains, present in Italy with a modern, autonomous, and digital workout experience.
CLIENT REQUIREMENT
The McFIT facility in Mestre needed to manage high foot traffic safely and efficiently, as typical for a high-volume fitness club. The goal was to ensure swift access for members while simultaneously maintaining precise access authorization control.
Additionally, a dedicated service pathway was required to facilitate the passage of staff, suppliers, and materials without disrupting regular member flow.
Finally, the solution had to be easily replicable across the network’s other locations while maintaining the same technical, functional, and aesthetic standards.
SOLUTION IMPLEMENTED
At the McFIT facility in Mestre, we installed a PG03 motorized speed gate featuring a 90 cm passage width, fully integrated with the gym’s access control system. The solution automates entry and exit management, ensuring rapid throughput, reliability, and secure access control.
Completing the installation is a GLA1 service gate with a 90 cm clear passage, controlled via push-button. Designed specifically for staff, vendors, and large equipment, it effectively segregates operational traffic from daily gym members.
The configuration developed for Mestre was subsequently rolled out across McFIT centers in Como, Novara, Trieste, Secondigliano (Naples), Mugnano (Naples), and Genoa, maintaining the exact same system architecture.
At the Bergamo facility, however, the solution was supplemented with a CAME 702RN1 tripod turnstile, integrated into the access control system and selected to meet the specific operational requirements of the location.
PROJECT RESULTS AND BENEFITS
The adoption of a standardized solution enabled McFIT to unify access management across its various locations, offering members a simple, swift, and consistent entry experience from one center to another.
Furthermore, the replicability of the system setup optimized installation and maintenance times, while streamlining the network’s overall operational management.
Integration with the CAME access control system now enables precise authorization management and enhanced entry traceability, while the dedicated service gate facilitates logistics operations without disrupting regular gym usage.
The project demonstrates how a modular and scalable solution can adapt to the needs of a national fitness network, maintaining technological and operational consistency across various facilities.
