Mountain Zoo

Halle Zoo is the only mountain zoo in Germany. It was built over several levels around the 130 m high Reilsberg and has over 400,000 visitors a year. They have a multi-storey car park with three levels and 200 parking spaces. To provide customers with more convenience and a better parking experience, the outdated parking system had to be replaced and a modern solution implemented.

Customer need

Halle Zoo needed a modern solution for the multi-storey car park that would make parking and payment convenient, fast and efficient, thus offering visitors an optimal parking experience. In addition, the wide range of users and the reliability of the operation had to be taken into account.

Automatic license plate recognition
- High-performance cameras capture every license plate in real time. AI algorithms ensure a detection rate of almost 100% – even in difficult lighting conditions. The barrier opens automatically to allow the vehicle to enter.
Payment by cash
Payment by credit/debit card or smartphone
Payment stations with touch display for license plate entry and digital payment terminal
Fallback Solution for Terminals at the entrance and exit (continuity of operation in emergency or technical failure situations). Immediate ticket issuance at the entrance in the event of a malfunction of the digital systems
Manual cashier for cash payment all fallback or for users without digital payment option
