International Participants Meeting: Came technology provider for the participant Countries of Expo Milano 2015

Turin, 3 October 2013 – Came, as renowned Italian and international leader in the home & building automation sector, will be the official supplier of technology for countries participating in the Expo Milano 2015. This initiative was announced in occasion of the International Participants Meeting, an event that brings together delegations from over one-hundred countries in the traditional two-days dedicated to the Universal Expo that will be held by Expo Milano 2015 between 3-4 October at the Lingotto building in Turin.

The Treviso based company, as Expo Milano 2015 Official partner, will supply the automation systems and technologies for access control, queue monitoring and person counter to the 60 participant countries of the Universal Expo that will be grouped into a dedicated pavilion in order to manage the flow of over 20 million visitors expected from around the world.

Thanks to the queue monitoring system based on facial recognition technology, the exhibiting countries will be able to monitor the number of people in a specific area in queue to pass a point of entry, while the access control technology will detect any unauthorized entries. Visitors can also benefit from this information to find out allotted visiting time to experience the best that the Expo Milano 2015 site has to offer. All systems will interface with the innovative access control system currently under development by Came in order to support the Expo in tasks of surveillance, command and control of automation devices for pedestrian and vehicle entrances, parking areas, pavilions and other expo site infrastructures.

The system supplied by Came to Expo Milano 2015 will manage an average of 140 thousand entries per day, reaching 250 thousand hits during peak hours. Perimeter access will be controlled by 210 automatic turnstiles, 10 of which have been specifically designed to conveniently handle access of the physically challenged. The "intelligent control system", designed by Came will interface with Came’s latest generation automation, and also flawlessly integrates with the Expo Milano 2015 ticketing service and centralized control system.

“We are confident that the Expo Milano 2015 exposition site – stated Paolo Menuzzo, Came Group President – will become a digital city model that can be flawlessly recreated in other contexts. We are, therefore, extremely excited to put our technology at the service of the Digital Smart City while also offering our solutions to the countries taking part in the Universal Expo, so as to ensure the highest level of control and safety for all visitors inside the pavilions and all other infrastructures of the exposition site.”
